One of them and one of the very famous and popular one is the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Temple. It is commonly referred to as the Srisailam Temple since it is found in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh. Lord Shiva and Parvati are believed to stay here and therefore this sacred area started being desired as Srisailam because of its divine nature. The Architecture and the structure of the temple
This temple is said to be home to one of the 12 prominent Jyotirlingas, and it is also one of the important Shakti Peethas of Goddess Parvati. That’s why this place is considered a most divine sanctum sanctorum (Garbha Gudi). The Shivalinga present here…When Lord Shiva is worshipped here in the form of Mallikarjuna, Goddess Parvati is revered as Bhramarambika. It is believed that the presence of Mallikarjuna at this sacred site is very ancient. As Lord Mahashiva is worshipped in linga form with jasmine flowers (Mallipu) and kadamba flowers, the name Mallikarjuna is said to have originated from this form of worship. There is evidence that this ancient temple was constructed around the 2nd century.
During the reign of Vijaya Maharaju, and particularly in the era of Harihara Maharaju, the temple services and expansion works were carried out significantly. Behind the sanctum where the main deities reside… Within the temple premises, various sub-shrines for different deities have been constructed.
A large mandapam (hall) with numerous stone pillars stands prominently, and the tall idol of Nadakeshwarar is one of the most significant highlights of this temple. We can also see Shivalingas installed by Lord Sri Rama and the Pancha Lingams believed to have been established by the Pandavas at this sacred site.

The Hatakeshwaram Temple, known for its elegant and intricate architectural design, is another beautiful spot in this holy area. It is an ancient Shiva temple situated at the foothills of the Nallamala hills in Srisailam.
Here, devotees can witness a uniquely beautiful Shivalinga, full of spiritual energy. It is widely believed that visiting this temple helps people gain freedom from severe and chronic diseases. Inside the temple, there is an artificially constructed sacred pond known as a Koneru. This Pushkarini (temple tank) is located very close to the main temple and is considered highly holy and purifying by devotees.

How To Reach To The Temple
By Air
Nearest Airports:
Kurnool Airport (Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy Airport): Approximately 190 km from Srisailam. Direct flights are available from cities like Delhi (with a layover in Chennai) and other major cities. The average time spent in the air between Delhi and Kurnool is 5 hours and 45 minutes, whereas the cost of the economy category airfare hovers at INR 7,700.
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad: It is located some 213 km to Srisailam. It is the most convenient airport to travelers within the country and to others outside the country as far as connectivity is concerned.
Srisailam is also accessible by road after reaching the airport. Once you reach any one of the two airports then you can take the road route by hiring a taxi or a bus. The road travelling time is 4-5 hrs journey from Hyderabad and 3-4 hours journey time, starting off at Kurnool. The cost of taxis ranges between INR 2,500 4,000, which is dependent on the type of car.

Nearest Railway Stations:
Markapur Road Railway Station (MRK): Approximately 84 km from Srisailam. It is also well linked to other urban locations such as Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai and Vijayawada. Trains like the Amaravati Express (Shalimar to Markapur) and Kondaveedu Express (from Bangalore) serve this station.
Cumbum Railway Station: Yet another possibility can be cited as the Cumbum railway station that is about 60 km away from Srisailam and has scheduled and express trains as well.
From the Station: From Markapur or Cumbum, you can take a taxi or an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus to Srisailam. Markapur to Srisailam bus fare costs approximately INR 200 and the ride durations are approximately 3 hours. Taxis cost around INR 1,500–2,500.

Direct Buses: APSRTC and the linkage with Srisailam is well connected by road networks and by privately owned buses that ply large cities:
From Hyderabad: Direct AC and non-AC buses are available. One reaches there by a 8-12 hours long ride via bus with average fare of non-AC bus being INR 500 and AC bus INR 800.

Starting Hyderabad: Drive on NH 44 up to Kurnool and then head using state highways to Srisailam.
Bangalore: Go through NH 44 to Kurnool, after which one speeds to Srisailam through state roads.
Taxi: You can use a hired cab; this is convenient especially if you are leaving Hyderabad or Kurnool. Prices start at INR 2,500-5,000 (one way) based on the type of the vehicle.

Foot: The temple is small in area and the Bhramaramba shrine is located right behind the Mallikarjuna shrine and thus is conveniently reachable on feet within the campus.
