Overview of SriVari Seva Updates

The new website is a bit challenging but also somewhat easier to use. I’ll guide you step-by-step on how to register and explain the rules. If you watch this video completely, you’ll be able to register for SriVari Seva from the comfort of your home without needing to visit a net center or tour around. First, let’s understand some basic points about SriVari Seva.

Every devotee of Lord Venkateswara wishes to participate in SriVari Seva because the experience there is unique. Only those who’ve been there can truly understand the feeling. That’s why those who go once keep going back again and again.

What is SriVari Seva?

SriVari Seva is a week-long volunteer service performed on the Tirumala hill. You’ll see volunteers in places like the Annadanam (free food distribution) area, luggage counters, laddoo counters, and various other location

s. The service lasts for seven days. For the devotees participating, TTD has constructed two large buildings Seva Sadan 1 and Seva Sadan to provide accommodation. This service is completely free. You don’t get paid, nor do you need to pay TTD anything. It’s entirely a volunteer service, so there’s no money involved. You can simply come, serve, and leave.

Accommodation and Basic Rules for SriVari Seva

Seva Sadan 1 is for women, and Seva Sadan 2 is for men. Everyone gets their own space. They also provide lockers for your belongings large lockers, so there’s no inconvenience. The age limit for SriVari Seva is 18 to 60 years.

There are four types of services under SriVari Seva: SriVari Seva, Navaneetha Seva, Parakamani Seva, and Senior Seva. Recently, they introduced a separate category under SriVari Seva called Gents Seva because there were more women participating, and they needed more men to balance the numbers.

Types of SriVari Seva and Their Specifics

You can participate in SriVari Seva in two ways: as a mixed batch of men and women or as a batch of only women. They’ve also released a separate quota for men. Navaneetha Seva is specifically for women aged 35 to 50 years and takes place in the goshala (cow shelter). Parakamani Seva, which was earlier only for government employees, now has two categories: one for employees and one for the general public, called General Sri Parakamani Seva.

You only need to have passed 10th grade to be eligible. This is exclusively for men and lasts 3 to 4 days, not a full week. Senior Seva is a new addition with an age limit of 40 to 75 years. Senior Seva volunteers observe how other SriVari Seva volunteers perform their duties, essentially acting as quality checkers, and they submit reports. Their service duration can be 15 days, a month, or even three months.

Updates and Uniform Requirements for SriVari Seva

These updates will start from June 2025, so by July or August, we’ll have more clarity about Senior Seva. For a week-long stay, you’ll need at least two sets of uniforms. For women, the uniform is an orange saree, and for men, it’s a white shirt with either a white pant, white dhoti, or kurta pajama. Many devotees from Bengaluru prefer kurta pajamas.

However, when performing temple duties, men must wear a white dhoti and shirt. TTD doesn’t provide these uniforms you need to bring them from home.

Rules and Disciplinary Guidelines

You’re not allowed to bring small children during this week-long service. If you have an urgent matter and need to leave, you can, but if TTD suspects you’re leaving intentionally, behaving rudely with devotees or TTD officials, or not following your team leader’s instructions, they may file a complaint against you. There’s a CRO office in Seva Sadan where, if a complaint is lodged, your Aadhaar number can be blacklisted, preventing you from participating in SriVari Seva again. Keep this in mind.

Reporting Process and Daily Temple Duty Selection

it’s at Seva Sadan 2, the accommodation for men. As I mentioned, Seva Sadan 1 is for women, and Seva Sadan 2 is for men. You need to report at Seva Sadan 2. Previously, you’d report on the same day your service was scheduled, but the rules have changed. Now, if your service starts on the 2nd, you must report on the 1st between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. There’s a notice board where they display the daily temple duty assignments.

Every day, they conduct a lucky draw among the teams to assign temple duties. The list is posted on the notice board around 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Whether you come individually or in a group, you can get selected. Navaneetha Seva volunteers also get temple duties, but Parakamani Seva volunteers do not.

Selection Notifications and Tips

If you’re in a group, only the team leader’s name will be listed on the notice board, not the entire team’s names. If you’re an individual, your name and mobile number will be listed. Usually, you’ll receive a message on your mobile if you’re selected, but sometimes there might be signal issues, so it’s better to check the notice board daily.

There’s a 90% chance you’ll be selected at least once during the week. If fewer volunteers are available, you might even get selected twice, so don’t stop checking after being selected once keep an eye out for a second opportunity.
