Xiaomi X Pro QLED TV 2025 Review: A Detailed Look by Vineet Malhotra

Xiaomi has launched its X Pro QLED TV 2025 version. I had already reviewed the 2024 model, the Magic QLED TV, and it was a very, very good TV. So, has Xiaomi made any changes, or have they just rebranded and given you the same TV? Let’s find out. I’ll show you a review of this TV the Xiaomi X Pro QLED TV 2025 model that no one else can show you on YouTube.

Xiaomi X Pro QLED TV

In this article, I’ll check the Xiaomi X Pro QLED TV on all parameters. This detailed review will be presented in the same way I do all my other TV reviews. I’ve already provided the timestamps in the description box. But if you’re planning to buy this TV available in 43, 55, and 65 inch sizes you should listen to all these parameters very carefully. Only then will you decide if you like this TV and whether you should buy it or not.

Design and Build

Talking about looks, this TV is a fantastic-looking TV. It has very thin bezels almost negligible. You can’t even make out where the bezels are. The TV comes with a metal frame, but the body and table-mount stands are made of plastic. At the bottom bezel, you’ll find Xiaomi’s branding right in the center. If you look at its side profile, it’s not thick it’s very thin, and that’s a very good thing. This time, you get a new remote control. Remember how Xiaomi TVs used to come with a small, compact remote control? That’s gone. With the Xiaomi X Pro QLED TV 2025 model, you get a full-size remote control with lots of hotkeys.

  • Bezel: Ultra-thin, almost invisible
  • Frame: Metal
  • Body & Stands: Plastic
  • Remote: Full-size with hotkeys

Display and Picture Quality

Talking about the panel, this TV features an 8-bit FRC VA D-LED QLED panel. We tested its peak HDR brightness, and it came out to be approximately 320 nits. However, this TV can peak up to 400 nits whenever required. In scenes where you need a lot of brightness in a particular area, this TV performs well—no problem. It delivers, and that’s a good thing. The panel comes with a 60 Hz refresh rate, but you get some great gaming features, which I’ll discuss in the gaming section later.

  • Panel Type: 8-bit FRC VA D-LED QLED
  • Peak HDR Brightness: ~320 nits (can peak up to 400 nits)
  • Refresh Rate: 60 Hz
Contrast and Blacks

This TV comes with an exceptional contrast ratio of 5100:1 because it’s a VA panel. What does this contrast ratio give you? The best blacks you can get. Such amazing blacks that you’ll enjoy watching them. When you’re actually seeing good picture quality, this is something we really like. Many people think the contrast ratio is only useful for seeing blacks—that’s not true. If you want to see more depth in colors, contrast is very important. Since this is a very good panel with an excellent contrast ratio, you’ll also get great color performance.

  • Contrast Ratio: 5100:1
  • Blacks: Deep with noticeable variations
Gray Uniformity and Color Performance

If I check gray uniformity, it’s not the best. Of course, it’s not an OLED panel, but for a VA panel, the gray uniformity is very, very good. You’ll get very close to uniform grays, which is good. The best part is that you’ll see variations in blacks—you’ll see depth in them. Understand this: black might just look like black to you, but there are many variations of black, and you can notice them in a panel that gives you good blacks and variations.

The contrast ratio is good, and it can show you different blacks in different ways, which is beautiful when you see it with the naked eye. No matter how much I try to show you on camera, I don’t think it will do justice. When you see this TV in person, the blacks will look even better.

We also tested the color gamut of this TV, and it comes with 88% sRGB color gamut. It’s not bad, but it’s not great either. You’ll notice that blues and reds are oversaturated, which makes the picture quality quite poppy and lively. Xiaomi uses the Vivid Picture Engine 2 color engine in this, which optimizes all the colors. These oversaturated blues and reds will give you such an amazing picture quality it’ll show you colors somewhat like what you see in real life. I’m not saying it’s so saturated that it looks exactly like real-life flowers on this TV no, it’s a bit oversaturated.

But it looks pleasing to the eye. You’ll enjoy watching it, you won’t get bored, and your eyes won’t get tired. This color optimization is very well-suited and pleasing to the eye. Overall, I liked the color range and the depth I got.

  • Color Gamut: 88% sRGB
  • Color Characteristics: Blues and reds oversaturated, poppy, and lively
  • Color Engine: Vivid Picture Engine 2
Dynamic Range

Try to understand this: there are only three colors red, blue, and green. Being able to show a good range in these three colors is actually magic. This TV shows me a lot of colors, with great depth and range in each color that’s what I’m saying. So, what can I say about the picture quality of this TV? The biggest change I noticed in the Mi X Pro QLED TV 2025 compared to the 2024 model is the dynamic range.

That’s the most important thing in any TV. When we see sunlight and shade in the same scene darkness and brightness together it’s the hardest for a TV to display good picture quality. But with Xiaomi’s X Pro QLED TV 2025 model, you get a better dynamic range. It’s not that the 2024 model couldn’t show those scenesit could, but it’s slightly better now, it’s improved. You’ll see more details now.

In shadowy areas, you’ll enjoy the picture quality. Whenever I test a TV, I can tell from a particular scene whether the TV will have banding or not. I’m very happy to report that the Xiaomi X Pro QLED TV 2025 model has no banding, which is a very, very good thing. At this price range, delivering picture quality without color patches or banding is a big achievement, and this TV gives you unimaginable picture quality—no blooming in any scene either.

  • Dynamic Range: Improved over 2024 model, better details in shadows
  • Banding: None
  • Blooming: None
Viewing Angles

The viewing angles are exactly like any VA panel. At extreme sides, you’ll experience a 20–25% loss in color and brightness. But are you going to sit at 180° or even 135°? Hardly anyone with a VA panel does that. This is a good VA panel. To enjoy it, you should sit in front of it or at most at a 30–45° angle. Then you’ll really enjoy the picture quality of this TV.

  • Viewing Angles: 20–25% color/brightness loss at extreme angles
  • Recommended Viewing: Front or 30–45° angle

Operating System and Features

The Xiaomi X Pro QLED TV comes with Android 14 TV OS out of the box. It’s a Google TV OS, and you’ll get the familiar Google carousel where you’ll see tiles of all your apps. Once you log in, you’ll also see tiles of suggested content. On top of that, you get the latest PatchWall OS as a skin. If you browse your content through PatchWall, all your suggested content will appear there too.

You can search for any movie or content on the PatchWall screen, and no matter which app that content is available on, it’ll appear in front of you—that’s good. The OS is light, and you get built-in Chromecast and Miracast support, along with Apple AirPlay 2 support. Obviously, the remote control has a Google Assistant button.

  • OS: Android 14 TV OS (Google TV) with PatchWall skin
  • Features: Chromecast, Miracast, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Assistant

Connectivity

For connectivity options, you get three HDMI ports (one of which is eARC), two USB ports, an optical port, and all other connectivity options. This TV also comes with DVB-T2, which is future-proofing for digital video broadcasting. In the future, if you use this option, it’ll give you better signals and clarity in terms of audio and video. Additionally, you get Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi support. From a connectivity point of view, you’re completely sorted.

  • Ports: 3 HDMI (1 eARC), 2 USB, optical
  • Broadcasting: DVB-T2 support
  • Wireless: Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi

HDR Support

Now comes the best part—HDR support. This TV supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG, so it’ll show you all the formats you watch on any OTT platform. Let’s start with HDR10+ content, which is one of my favorites—you’ll see a lot of details, and I did too. It’s enjoyable to watch such content when there’s no banding, you get depth in colors, a good range, good blacks, and because of the excellent contrast ratio, every color has its own life. I thoroughly enjoyed the HDR10+ content—you get great details. When I switched to Netflix content, I saw the same thing with Dolby Vision.

Dolby Vision gives you another level of clarity and detailing, and we saw that through this TV. You can play any Dolby Vision content and get details because the dynamic range of this TV is very good. You’ll enjoy this content. Trust me, if the TV’s dynamic range wasn’t this good, Dolby Vision support wouldn’t have mattered. It’s better than last year’s model, and that’s particularly why I liked this TV more than last year’s Xiaomi X Pro QLED.

Apart from Dolby Vision and HDR10+, you also get Filmmaker Mode support. If you want to watch content through it, you can—it’s not on by default. But if you’re watching a YouTube video and turn on Filmmaker Mode, it’ll give you a cinematic experience, which is pleasurable sometimes.

  • HDR Support: HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG
  • Additional Mode: Filmmaker Mode for cinematic experience

Set-Top Box and Upscaling Performance

If you watch India set-top box content, let’s test this TV on that. I’m happy with this TV. I won’t say it’s the best-performing TV for set-top box content, but it’s good. In the upscaling department, Xiaomi has left no stone unturned they’ve given you very good upscaling. Let’s talk about a news channel. With set-top box content like a news channel, it performs very well and is acceptable.

Showing small content on a 4K screen especially on my 65-inch size is a very difficult task, and this TV performs really well. When you switch to HD content, the game changes altogether you get amazing upscaling. You might think, “This isn’t HD or Full HD content it’s actually 4K.” But it’s not it’s an HD channel. In terms of upscaling, I have no complaints whatsoever.

  • Set-Top Box Performance: Good, especially for news channels
  • Upscaling: Excellent, HD content looks close to 4K

Gaming Performance

The Xiaomi X Pro QLED TV comes with a native 60 Hz refresh rate panel, but you can get 120 Hz gaming through Dual Line Gate (DLG) technology. With DLG, you’ll get 120 Hz gaming, but the resolution will drop to Full HD or 2K. You can achieve this through the HDMI eARC port with a console or computer. We tried different games, and the experience was really good.

Still, I’d say this is a normal gaming TV, not a perfect actual gaming TV. But if you’re a casual gamer who plays once or twice a week, this is a good TV to go for. You don’t need an actual gaming TV—you need a TV that can handle gaming without any issues and also show you content well, which this TV does brilliantly.

  • Refresh Rate: Native 60 Hz, up to 120 Hz via DLG (at Full HD/2K resolution)
  • Gaming Suitability: Good for casual gamers

Audio Quality

The X Pro QLED TV comes with 34W down-firing speakers that support DTS:X and Dolby Audio. These are available in the 55 and 65-inch variants, but the 43-inch variant gets a 30W speaker, though the audio support remains the same. I think the audio quality is good—it gives you a cinematic experience, but you won’t get booming bass. You’d need a soundbar for that, which is obvious. But what you actually need from TV speakers, you get here. First, take a listen. [Due to copyright reasons, I can’t play a movie scene or song, but I can explain.]

The crispness in audio quality and dialogue clarity is there, and that’s most important. You don’t expect DJ-like sound from TV audio quality—you expect dialogue clarity. You expect that even when there’s a lot of bass in the content, the dialogues are still clear and crisp. That’s what you can achieve from this TV by default because you get good speakers. They’re changed from last year—if I remember correctly, last year you got up to 30W speakers. This time, they’ve changed the set of speakers, and they’re better than last year’s.

  • Speakers: 34W (55 & 65-inch), 30W (43-inch), down-firing
  • Audio Support: DTS:X, Dolby Audio
  • Quality: Crisp dialogue clarity, good for cinematic experience (soundbar needed for deep bass)

Rating and Pricing

Based on all the parameters I’ve discussed, here’s my rating. I rate this TV an average of 7.75, which is a good and healthy score. This TV is available in 43, 55, and 65-inch sizes. Here are its prices as of today (May 19, 2025). I don’t know when these prices might change or how long this TV will be available because Xiaomi TVs usually sell out quickly and are in high demand. I’ve given links for all these TVs in the description box and in the VM1 TV List.

  • Rating: 7.75/10
  • Sizes: 43, 55, 65 inches
  • Availability: Links in description box and VM1 TV List

Pros and Cons

Let’s talk about the cons first. I think the panel of this Xiaomi TV should have been a bit brighter. 330 nits isn’t very high brightness. I understand it can peak up to 400 nits, but I think this is a bit low—we need more brightness for content viewing. The second con is that this TV doesn’t offer HDR gaming. You get normal gaming, but not HDR or Dolby Vision gaming, which is available in many TVs today. These are two areas where Xiaomi needs to improve, probably in 2026.

Now, let’s talk about the pros. The one and only—picture quality. The picture quality you get is amazing—the kind of punchy, vivid colors you get. Whether it’s because of the Vivid Picture Engine 2 or overall color optimization, I can’t say, but the main reason is the dynamic range. You get a significantly improved dynamic range in this TV compared to last year’s model, which is why you get great picture quality—otherwise, you wouldn’t have. This dynamic range works wonders and gives you outstanding picture quality.

Yes, I agree that the blues and reds are oversaturated, but you’ll like that oversaturation. It’s something you’ll start loving in the content because you’ll see very punchy and vivid colors that won’t tire your eyes. Oversaturate, but do it tastefully that’s exactly what Xiaomi has done in this TV. Overall, I really liked the HDR10+ and Dolby Vision performance because there’s no color loss you get details in colors and blacks. You’ll enjoy seeing the blacks because you’ll notice variations in them, and that’s what we need in good picture quality.

It’s not a perfect gaming TV, but it’s a very good TV for casual gaming. If you want to take advantage of DLG and achieve a 120 Hz refresh rate at 2K resolution, you can do that too it’s a good TV for casual gamers. Lastly, the audio quality is also crisp and clear. This is my top priority in any TV’s audio quality I don’t need booming bass, just clear dialogues. If I need bass, I’ll get a soundbar, and obviously, I’ll watch my own Vineet Malhotra’s soundbar videos.

  • Cons:
  • Peak brightness (330 nits) is a bit low, needs more for better viewing.
  • No HDR or Dolby Vision gaming support.
  • Pros:
  • Outstanding picture quality with punchy, vivid colors.
  • Improved dynamic range over 2024 model.
  • Good for casual gaming with 120 Hz via DLG at 2K resolution.
  • Crisp and clear audio with excellent dialogue clarity.

Conclusion

At the price range this TV is launched in, it gives neck-to-neck competition to other brands—not because of the price, but because of the picture quality and dynamic range. What do you think? Let me know in the comment section. If you have any questions you’d like to ask me directly, write them down I’ll try to answer as soon as possible.
